Behling:</span> Utterly worthless If you're thinking that this app will speed up your shopping trip, think again. You would expect this app to work just like the regular Scan It! hand scanners in the stores, and to a certain extent, it does. Where it falls flat on its electronic rump is when it comes to checkout. Now, the app will not run unless the stores self checkout lanes are open, so it's obvious the two are intended to work together. But when you get to the checkout and try to actually pay for your order it won't let you. No, it tells you that the order has to be completed at a different register. WTF? I spoke with the store manager on duty when this happened and she agreed with me, it's the dumbest thing Giant has ever done. If you try to check out through self checkout then the cashier manning the self checkout lanes has to manually scan the order with her portable scanner, meaning, if the store is busy, you're going to be standing there waiting and holding up the line for quite some time. And forget about canceling the order and just manually scanning everything through the register scanner, you can't! It won't let you cancel the order until the cashier scans her card first. UNINSTALLED!!<br /><br /><span style="color:red">Frank Shannon:</span> Seems to work now Previously gave this 1 star due to the reboot issue. A few weeks ago my Verizon Galaxy Nexus received its OTA 4.2.2 update. I just tried the app today and it works wonderfully.<br /><br /><span style="color:red">Karen Murphy:</span> Scanner is horrible I have a Samsung Galaxy S4. This program doesn't work well with the autofocus camera. I spent 1-2 minutes trying to scan each item I wanted to purchase, then at checkout it took me about 5 minutes to get the scanner to read the barcode so I could finish and pay. Going back to the handheld store scanner. Really wanted to use this program but it's time consuming. This app does a wonderful job of scanning items and telling me about sale items in the store but when it comes time to checkout, it fails. Even the cashier can't figure out why the app fails to complete my transaction. When I scan the barcode to complete the transaction, the app tells me I need cashier assistance to finish. I have to enter my bonus card number. When I do that, the app seems to freeze and doesn't do anything. I've tried it twice and the same thing keeps happening. Really annoying. After I finally endure this over a shopping trip, I try to scan the checkout barcode... To no avail. 5 minutes later I give up and rescan everything myself. Final insult, really. Do not even waste your time downloading this app. Twice now at the end of the grocery session it would not let me check out , and of course there were people behind me so I had to leave the line and start over again with a regular cashier. The first time I gave it another chance but the second time it happened was unacceptable. Sucks that I can't find my "preferred" store so it made doing everything that much harder. It was iffy and I found it only worked if I used it at a store that was on the list. Considering the closest store on that list is a good 15 miles away, yet I have 3 within 4 miles of me;I deleted the app and use self checkout. Still a bit inconvenient.
