Cody Rodenhuis: YouTube app constantly crashing (solid grey screen) everytime I try to transition back to home screen. This happens on my Shield TV.

Chuck Carroll: Works great and the UI is perfect for use on TVs.

Wouter van Vliet: I'm quite disappointed to experience that the recently launched "End Cards" feature, that otherwise works very nice on desktop and mobile, is - at this moment - not supported in the TV app. Perhaps it's too much to expect from Google that their things work on all platforms? Even though that's what they want developers using their tools to make sure... hmm...

Óskar Freyr Arndal: After 2-3 videos the videos starts to flicker everywhere and only way to fix it is too turn off the tv and back on.

Uğur Gürsoy: I needs to have a setting to choose the region like the web and android mobile version. If you choose the device language as US English you receive US content only. I live in Europe and I would like to see local content in news and top trending etc. This is one of the fundamental settings that you need why is it missing.

Luis Alvarado: If I start playing a video from a section (playlist), why does the app wonder off and start playing from the suggested videos. What is the point of playing from a playlist if it does this anyways...

: On the current (auto-updated) version of the app on Philips PUS7101 TV's, the bandwidth seems to be capped at around 300KiB/s, which makes it impossible to play many Full HD and any 4K videos. Downgrading the app to stock version eliminates this problem.

Ronan O Keeffe: great app to have on my android tv, not perfect in its application, when playing from playlists of mine it doesn't continue to next video in list, very annoying,

Farhan Ghani: Out of date, come on google update this already.

Rafy Pérez: I expected more for the app, it DO NOT play 360 videos on a NVIDIA SHIELD (2017) model. I was under the impression that It can. BUT NO !!!Add that feature to avoid using the PCs.

Bogdan Vlad: The application needs a lot more work, especially a way to turn off the autoplay feature.

Jesse Vanasse: Quick question "Does Google read any of this" it's mind blowing that the YouTube app for Android TV is lacking a much touted feature that it should have had since Nougat was announced, PIP (Picture in Picture) mode, I've went to Twitter to voice my frustration but it didn't seem to help, you'd think this would be one the first of Google's apps to utilize this awesome new feature, I mean come on, What's the hold up ? The only other thing I'd like to suggest is the option to add a video to a playlist (like you can in the mobile app). Hope somebody from Google is reading this and has an answer :/

Joshua McCoig: Current layout is bad.. where is the updated one already?

Robert Savello: This app works flawlessly on my android tv. 4k videos play beautifully. I wish there was an option to view the video description.

Daniel Lehmann: 60 fps please! Pretty great otherwise. Slick UI.

Mohsen Mahdavi: The only important thing missing is "Add to Favorite"

Radoslav Sharapanov: Watch Later needs to be sorted by descending date. Please?

Brandon Sheperis: Why can't I add/remove items to/from my Watch Later list?

Brandon Page: Layout/navigation is good. 4k works without any problems.

E Favela: It's better than the PlayStation 3 version of Youtube.

Scot McSweeney-Roberts: Needs the ability to turn off auto play.

Steve Jordan: Where's the HDR support????

Tom Shaw: Love this app, but there are a couple of essential features missing that make it painful to use: (1) No way to filter search results. This means when searching, many of the results are often years old. Particularly annoying when searching for current videos. (2) Can't view comments on a video. A key feature of YouTube is being able to read the community discussion on the video. This feature is desperately needed. (3) Can't minimize a currently playing video to search for others. In order to search for videos you have to entirely exit the currently playing video. When you are used to iOS app (which allows you to minimize the currently playing vid) this feels very clunky.

Evan Buchanan: The UI (rating, subscription, etc) controls have returned resulting in a very usable interface. However, the last update introduced an issue with the screensaver on the Nexus TV. When the screensaver comed on, playback now stops. This is very annoying as many videos don't resume properly. The problem is even worse if you are watching a playlist as the UI drops back to the first item leaving you to figure out where you left off. Once this problem is fixed, the Android TV version of the app will be up to speed.

Ben Floro: Sound doesn't work on Sony Android TV's if you disable the TV's speakers. So if you have your audio being pushed out via the optical port to your stereo and have your TV speakers disabled, youtube won't play any audio. Only seems to effect this app. Netflix etc don't suffer the same issue.

Garey Baker: Works very poorly on my Sharp Aquos LC-70UE30U. If a video comes on after the video you just watched - it's all black with full audio. To watch another video you have to back out and select it on your own, no continuous watching is possible. It may be that YouTube doesn't work well with 4K or large screens via the Android platform, at it's current version. It could even be that the TV attempts to upscale 1080p to 4K and YouTube is confused. Either way, it needs to be fixed. All content is un-watchable after a single video.

Cezary Milewicki: Absolutely awful. It’s unusable on my Sony Android TV. Netflix or Amazon Prime Video can stream UHD HDR without any problems, while Youtube is having problems with 480p. Audio is playing, while video is frozen for most of the time. I had no problems with previous version, but after update everything is just crap.

Michael Bodell: Had to disable it from my tv. It breaks the option to cast youtube from your phone. This is important for us because my wife watches movies from Thailand and we can't enter the font on our tv to find shows. Please fix the option to pair with the phone or stop it from intercepting the casting to my android tv.

Quba Michalski: Very weak app. Does not support 60fps playback even on very powerful devices, making gaming videos look choppy. Navigation and video management could use major overhaul.

Sreedhar C: App works perfectly well all the time on the Nvidia SHIELD ! Except the video progress bar and other ui elements cover half the screen, when pausing/fwding/reversing the video. Seems like bad UX design.

Luis Del Rivero: Allow people to press "up" to get rid of the pause menu. It's obtrusive and gets in the way of the video. Sometimes we pause to get a closer look of what's going on in the video and not have almost half the screen blocked by the title, subscribe, and the large "pause, fast forward, rewind" menu. All other media apps do this and so does that YouTube app on andriod ,ios , and on the web.

Hawk1291: I like this app for the most part but It is missing some important features. The ability to add/remove videos from playlists The ability to turn off autoplay on videos. The ability to view comments List subscriber count in the video player bar

Tyler Swagar: Why is Android TV the one platform where I can't disable autoplay? You'd think Google would have a better experience in their own ecosystem. As someone who watches YouTube as they fall asleep, that one feature makes enough of a difference for me to avoid the official app altogether. I can handle the ads, but I don't want to wake up to lord-knows-what from the related videos.

Ash Hughes: Top app which should be better... Doesn't respect system overscan settings, although I did notice it seemed to do so when I cast a video from my phone.. Please fix this!

Ryan J: Please enable this as a source for the live channel app for all the great live streams on youtube

Johnny Loh: Needs a lot of improvement.... Playlist is not playing properly...

Rilind PG: it's to limited can't upload videos can't login with multiple accounts can't search by date and there are also some other small bugs

Thomas Jespersen: I use a Nexus Player and this app works decent. However I wish there were a setting to disable autoplay.

Wenson Adelphin: After watching a video i want to see the next video on the timeline NOT some stupid suggested video.

: Come on guys get your act together.
